Written by famed playwright Octavio Solis, Mother Road is inspired by John Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath and tells the story of William Joad, thought to be the last surviving family member of Steinbeck’s original protagonist Tom Joad.

Enter Martín Jodes, a young Mexican-American man also descended from Tom Joad. Together, William and Martín must confront their own ideas of family, legacy, and America.  This powerful story takes the modern-day Joads from migrant farm-worker camps in California back to Oklahoma on an epic journey as they come to terms with their past, accept their present and embrace the future.
