It’s a First — for Everyone

Actors’ Reading Collective (ARC) is excited to announce a season that includes the West Coast Premiere of Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, Annie Baker’s The Antipodes!

ARC is an actor-led theater company of seasoned professionals and Bay Area favorites. Starting with virtual public readings during lockdown, we grew to produce our first in-person reading series: our Outside the Box ‘23 festival.

This year, we are back with Outside the Box ’24 (OTB ’24): our first series of four Shakespeare-adjacent play readings in conjunction with Marin Shakespeare Company's summer season.

And with your help, not only are we building on our reading series, ARC is ready to move from the page to the stage: The Antipodes will be ARC’s first fully produced, staged, in-person play.

We’re thrilled to say that this will be the first chance for audiences outside of New York and London to see this beautiful, funny, heart-breaking piece about our deep need to tell and share stories.

Wondering where you come in? If you’re willing, this is your cue to enter!

To make these exciting firsts a reality, we need your help to raise an additional $50,000. We have already raised $40,000. Help us cross the finish line.

No contribution is too small. Your generous  tax-deductible donation will directly pay the actors, designers, directors, and playwrights for this milestone season.

With your help, OTB '24 will be held between July 1 to Aug 21; and The Antipodes will run for four weeks in November of 2024 all at Marin Shakespeare’s new studio space on 4th St in San Rafael. Opening Friday, Nov. 8th, running Thursdays-Sundays until Dec 1st.

More exciting news: ARC’s production will be directed by Alyson Schacherer, a member of New York’s esteemed Barrow Group.

So what do you say? Wanna be on the ground floor of launching the next great
theater company, and be one of the first people in 3,000 miles to witness one of
Annie Baker’s latest works of genius?

If you can, please join us in this feast of firsts by donating what you can.

Many thanks,

The Actors of ARC
